Field Trip 10/27/14

Yesterday we went on a field trip to visit the Bill Brady Gallery. The art was made by a Artist named Jeff Baij and Digital Artist, Michael Manning it was mostly made up of screens designs, banners, and similar to a snow globe but had sand in it instead. I thought the giant banners looked liked different images taken it was a good mix of different images like locations, cells, outer space, and other images
that could be seen. What I could describe the screens was sort of a flow of colors on some, also a sort of design of elements shown like lightning and light with a sort of dark to light blues, pinks, greens,  with smooth/sharp lines. If you saw the sand globes closely it looked liked different types of islands all around the world. I thought of the art in the gallery of mixing different seasons and telling that the artists loved summer and winter seasons because I saw a lot that describes/shows how they like that kind of weather.

Painting in Photoshop

So the first one is the palette I had mixed the primary four colors to make green, purple, and orange. The colors for each of the four shows the kind of brushes you can use that mostly issued to paint a picture in photoshop with the mixer paint brush tool to be able to use fan brush, smooth brush, erodible point brush, and as well as others.
In the top of photoshop which is the paint brush setting to make those kinds of brush dry, wet, and to mix colors together to make them blend together. In using dry  while using brushing won't do anything just will let you use a brush. When choosing wet in paint brush option bar this will let the color you chose to mix with the background color. As well to add wet, heavy brush will make it a lot easier to combine to colors together.

Shiny Shield: Stroke panel, Opacity panel, Pathfinder panel, Gradient panel, Line tool, Direct selection tool, Gradient tool, and Object offset pathFirst step make a rectangle then use direct selection tool to stretch out the points into a shield form, next use stroke menu to add more to outline of the shield, then press add new stroke which will make a duplicate of the original stroke with the second stroke align it to the inner part of the shield so it going in, decrease the stroke of the original so it can be the outline of the second stroke, then add a third stroke have be the center stroke and have it moved behind the second stroke, after add a fill in (doesn’t have to be just green) put the fill at the bottom of the stroke panel, expand the shield by going to object then expand and ungroup the parts,  now add metallic gradients apply those to each stroke, with that object offset path with a negative number which will be a smaller duplicate, draw a arc through top copy the arc, go pathfinder menu and click divide with the fill and arc being both selected, take direct selection and delete bottom part of the arc fill, with top of the it change color to a black/white gradient and go to the opacity and decrease it by 80%, use gradient tool to add a shine gradient to the top part of the fill, edit paste in front to have second arc press divide in pathfinder panel, reverse gradient in gradient panel to add that glossy texture Follow the tutorial completely

My Gradient Mesh

One of the first and most important things to do to start the gradient mesh is vectoring (using the pen tool) the different pieces of the image. Secondly using the blur to to add the shine to the lighting areas
in the image. As well as use of the gradient mesh tool to add the bright and dark parts of the vectored image. The things I learned was or I guess relearned was using gradient mesh and pen tool because I had forgotten how to use both of those tools. The most important thing I learned was to actually using the pen tool because when I first used the tool I was kind of confused on how to use the tool but this practice helped me be able to use the tool and I use it for some of my projects and future projects.
